Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trails | Sunday 28 April and Sunday 28 July

The Scenic Rim is a food-lover’s paradise. Renowned for its abundance of local produce, the region is one of Australia’s premier food bowls and is celebrated for its award-winning food and drinks.

Held only a few times a year, Destination Scenic Rim’s Farm Gate Trail is your chance to hit the road in the Scenic Rim with your appetite and empty esky. Venture beyond the farm-gate and stock up of farm-fresh produce from over twenty local producers who make our region so special.

Here you’ll find a wealth of fresh veges, artisan meat and dairy goods, local wines, boutique spirits and beers, honey straight from the hive, plants and flowers, and so much MORE.

Kalbar Sunflower Festival | 19-21 April SOLD OUT!

Once again, the Scenic Rim’s beloved sunflower farm is opening its gates to welcome visitors back for their epic annual festival, showcasing their million (yes, A MILLION) beautiful, blooming sunflowers.

The Kalbar Sunflower Festival returns in April for three days only of insta-worthy  fields of golden flowers. During this ticketed event, you’ll have permission to wander the fields and take all the selfies, work your way through the maze set among four acres of sunflowers and pick your own bunch of flowers while you’re at it.

General admission tickets for 2024 are sold out.

Foodies and farm fans can expect an incredible line-up of on-farm celebrations, long lunches showcasing local produce, flavour-filled dinners, farm gate experiences, food walks, tastings, tours and talks, masterclasses, workshops for all ages and more, with the finale and signature event, the Winter Harvest Festival, on Saturday 29 June.

Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular | 15-16 June

They’re the gentle giants of the horse world and are recognised in Australia as the breed that built the nation. Over the weekend of June 15 and 16, come out to the colourful country town of Boonah and celebrate the best Clydesdale show in the Southern Hemisphere at the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular! See the champions of the breed judged, soak up some Scottish heritage, witness the skilled trades of harness making, whip plaiting and more, watch the Queensland Whip Cracking Champions, and check out working dog displays, bush poetry, wood chopping and so much more. CLYDESDALE SPECTACULAR

Winter Harvest Festival | Saturday 29 June

Immerse yourself in this popular celebration of country charm! The signature Winter Harvest Festival is your ticket to experience Eat Local Month in one glorious flavour-filled day, relocated to the picturesque country town of Kalbar. Enjoy engaging displays, workshops and tastings. Explore 60+ produce stalls, sample local wines, and witness the World Famous Tractor Pull. Don’t miss this ultimate farm gate experience and remember to bring your empty eskies!

Why not make a weekend of it? From Friday night’s Harvest Dinner at The Roadvale Hotel to Saturday evening’s Harvest Hoedown featuring Laura Frank’s toe-tapping tunes, the atmosphere will echo with laughter and the joy of harvest produce. And, on Sunday, gather fresh, local, and seasonal goodies at Valley Pride Produce alongside 5th generation farmers, or experience The Progressive Paddock event, culminating in a culinary delight by Scenic Rim Food Ambassador Ash Martin. The Long Sunset | Saturday 1-3 November

In early November, the Scenic Rim will explode once again with the sights and sounds of Australia’s most picturesque music festival, The Long Sunset as one of QMF’s signature Queensland Music Trails. Join us for a day, or stay the whole weekend to soak up the sublime music of popular artists, explore the work of local artisans and award-winning producers while the sun sets over our sublime countryside.
