Rathdowney, in the Scenic Rim’s south and just 32km from Beaudesert, provides access to the many impressive walking and climbing tracks in nearby Mount Barney National Park.

The tiny township occupies lush pastoral land and vast open spaces at the base of two majestic mountains, hosting monthly markets and food options such as the historic Rathdowney Hotel, cafes and restaurants.

The World Heritage-listed Mount Barney National Park is surrounded by valleys, caves, rockpools and woodland forest, primed for outdoor adventure and nature experiences. The designated wilderness park is marked by seven mountains, including Mt Barney, Queensland’s fourth-highest peak, and offers some of the Scenic Rim’s most challenging walks and pristine bushland teeming with wildlife.
