Thunderegg Crystal Mine

Located in the Gold Coast Hinterland and nestled in Thunderbird Park on Tamborine Mountain, the Thunderegg & Crystal Mine is a unique, hands on activity for the whole family.

Discover your own 200 million year old hidden treasures from prehistoric volcanic lava in largest deposit of Thundereggs in the Southern Hemisphere. Admission includes an informative lesson, learning all about Thundereggs, how they look, how to fossick for them and how to do it safely, then each participant will receive a pick and a bucket and heads to the mine, a short walk from the shop. Fill your bucket with treasures that you can take home, children will also get a Souvenir Miner’s Permit to commemorate the occasion.

Birthdays, School and Vacation Care groups are catered for as well.
