Mount Barney Lodge
Mount Barney Lodge sits in a picturesque valley with full creek frontage.
Mount Barney is one of Queensland’s highest and most impressive peaks, a two hour drive south of Brisbane.
Situated in the Mount Barney National Park within the Scenic Rim, Mount Barney is part of the world-heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest area of South East Queensland.
With extensive walking trails through rainforests and bushland to tranquil rockpools and spectacular views, Mount Barney is an outstanding place to visit.
The mountain’s sheer rugged peaks, caves, crevices and steep unforgiving landscape are best suited to highly-experienced bushwalkers and rock climbers. The eastern face of the mountain is a sheer 300 metre cliff, presenting a meaty challenge for the country’s best rock climbers. Abseilers also regularly test their mettle on nearby escarpments.
At the base of the mountain, easier tracks can be found taking walkers to pristine rock pools great views and lush rainforest.
The mountains and valleys around Mount Barney are the traditional homes of the Mununjali, Githabul and Yugambeh people and are considered sacred to these people. To connect with country, nature and culture, join a Yarriba Dreaming tour at Mt Barney Lodge.
To stay and explore the area at your leisure , there are plenty of accommodation options available in the area, from camping to farm stays and cabins, Queenslander holiday homes and romantic cottages.
We are proud of our diverse communities within the region. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the many lands within the Scenic Rim - the Mununjali in the Centre, the Wangerriburra to the East, the Ugarapul to the West, and all those of the Yugambeh and Jagera language groups. We pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
