Towri Sheep Cheeses will host the Towri Children’s Cheese Workshop for kids aged 6 to 12 from 10am to 2pm on October 3. Cheese making, lunch and tastings included!


Summer Land Camel Farm.

Give the kids a camel farm experience – October 3

A wonderful day out for families in the school holidays. Your children will never forget this exciting and informative experience at Summer Land Camels. Farm tours, camel rides, patting and feeding the camels, as well as hot dogs, burgers, gelato, smoothies, chocolate, camel cuddles, face painting, book readings and fun camel facts.

See top bull riders in action at the Beaudesert Invitational PBR – October 6

This is an event not to be missed. Watch the nation’s best bull riders in action in Beaudesert. You’ll get the ultimate spectator experience, seated in the first of its kind state of the art PBR-designed mobile stadium, which the Professional Bull Riders association will set up at the Beaudesert Showgrounds for the event.

The Tamborine Mountain Golf Club 2018 Open.

Hit a round of golf at the Tamborine Mountain Open – October 12 – 14 

If you love golf, head along to the Tamborine Mountain Golf Club 2018 Open on October 12, 13 and 14.

This is arguably south-east Queensland’s largest amateur golf event, and there’ll be substantial prize earnings every day of the competition.

Take the whole family along to Chantilly Farm Festival – October 13

Chantilly Farm in Witheren will host its first family-friendly Farm Festival on October 13, 2018.

Owners Bec and Josh will open the gates to their hydroponic farm, where they specialise in lettuce, micro herbs and edible flowers. Entry is free, and there’ll be farm tours, live music, market stalls, kids activities and cooking demonstrations. There’ll also be farm fresh produce, food and coffee for sale.

Have a long dinner for charity – October 13

Head along and help The Penelopes raise funds for children’s charity Variety at the Long Table Dinner a the Dugandan Hotel.

Join them from 3pm for drinks and lawn games, followed by dinner and live music.

The Craft Extravaganza Christmas Fair.

Get some Christmas shopping done early – October 19-21

The Craft Extravaganza Christmas Fair on Tamborine Mountain will showcase the handmade craft of 50 local and south-east Queensland craftspeople. Their work will be available for purchase at reasonable prices, and goods will have a Christmas theme.


Kalbar and surrounds.

Have a good old fashioned weekend in country Kalbar – October 20-21

There’ll be fun and entertainment for all ages at the Kalbar Country Day on October 20. Enjoy rides for the kids, carrot tossing, horse shoe quoits, the hay scramble and buy some fresh local produce to take home with you.

After all the fun of the Kalbar Country Day, head to the Kalbar Showgrounds on October 21 for the 2018 Kalbar Swap Meet & Markets, hosted by the Fassifern Car Club Inc. There’ll be cars, trucks, bikes, old engines, tractors, food and drinks and markets.
