December is a time for getting into the festive spirit, relaxing with family and friends and planning for the year ahead. Here’s your guide to what’s on in December and beyond in the Scenic Rim.
Beaudesert Rotary Club will host one of the community’s favourite events – Carols in the Park – from 6pm to 8pm on December 5.
Bring the family to a wonderful night under the stars to get in the Christmas spirit! Bring chairs or rugs to sit on. Bring Grandma. Bring the neighbours, and definitely bring the littlies. For more information, keep up to date via the Facebook event page.
Join the Beaudesert Race Club for their Christmas Raceday from 11am to 5.30pm December 12.
The raceday will include eight live races, and racegoers are expected to attend for their work Christmas Parties, end of year drinks and social outings.
The Boonah Christmas Street Festival – an annual Christmas Community Event for Boonah and surrounding areas – will be brought to you by the Boonah District Chamber of Commerce on December 13.
Funds raised through the 2018 event will go to help drought-affected farmers through charity Aussie Helpers.
The lunch will be a three-course buffet with traditional communal dining, as was encouraged by the company’s founders Arthur Groom and Romeo Lahey.
Get into the spirit of National Recycling Week in the Scenic Rim at the Community Clothes Swap on November 3. It’ll be on at the Boonah Cultural Centre and you can bring along some clothes, shoes or accessories (men’s, women’s and children’s) to take part in the swap for free, or just bring yourself and pay a gold coin donation to purchase items at the event.
Join the Beaudesert Race Club for their free entry Christmas Eve Raceday from 12 noon to 6.30pm, 24 December.
The final race on the 2018 Beaudesert racing calendar will include seven live action-packed races, betting facilities and bars.
