Scenic Rim Eat Local Week was huge but the feasting hasn’t finished yet! We’ll be at the Regional Flavours Festival in Brisbane on July 15 and 16 at Southbank.
The Scenic Rim Council and Visit Scenic Rim are presenting the Little Farmers’ Day Out, especially for the family’s youngest foodies.
We’ll be running two activities, at the Epicurious Garden and on the Central Café Lawn from 10am to 5pm both days.
Come and sow your own carrot seed, meet Scenic Rim farmers and create animal and vegetable crowns. Plus you’ll learn tonnes of interesting facts about where your food comes from.
Some of the Scenic Rim farmers who you can meet at Regional Flavours, include Peak Veggie Patch, Tommerup’s Dairy Farm, Summer Land Camel Farm, Ayton Chicken Farm, Scenic Rim 4Real Milk and Robotic Dairy and Kalfresh Vegetables.
At the Central Cafe Lawns, little farmers can get into the spirit of farming with their own Scenic Rim farm animal or vegetable! Create your own cow, chicken or carrot crown and wear it around the festival. Meet our real life farmers and learn tonnes of interesting facts about where your food comes from.
Over at the Epicurious Gardens they’re running out of carrots, so it’s up to the Little Farmers to grow some more. Decorate your biodegradable cup and add some soil before you plant a carrot seed. Take it home and watch it grow.
The two-day festival program is jam packed with delicious activities and offerings so come and indulge.
