There is so much happening in the Scenic Rim in June. Here’s a taster of some of the June events on offer in the Scenic Rim.

Indulge in a multiple course meal created by Cameron Matthews of Winston Restaurant and consultant group chef to Spicers Retreats, under the night sky and set to a soundtrack of live jazz music. Stunning bespoke cheeses and Scenic Rim produce will intertwine through the dishes, all of which will be paired with the best local wines and beverages. Gather your friends for what will be a magical night under the stars with the lambs.

Wine lovers, come together at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards for a weekend of all things vino!

Study wine at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards – June 9-10

Meet Wine and Spirit Education Trust educator and winemaker Peter Orr who will teach a WSET Level 1 wine qualification, recognised in more 55 countries. Stay overnight nearby and join the annual Wine Appreciation Lunch on Sunday, June 10 (from 11.30am to 2.30pm) with resident viticulturist Kevin Murtagh and Mr Orr.

Come join in on this free community event to celebrate Queensland Day with entertainment, pony rides, bush buddies, jumping castle, games, stalls and much more.

The Clydesdale Spectacular will be on June 16-17.

The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular, featuring the Fassifern Highland Gathering, showcases the iconic Clydesdale Horse, celebrating the traditions and heritage of ‘the breed that built the nation’ and a celebration of the rich Scottish heritage and history in the region.

The Scenic Rim Star Party will be on June 16.

Party with the stars – June 16

Presented by the Scenic Rim Astronomy Association, the star party will feature sky tours, meteorite displays, rocket launches and public viewing of the stars and planets. The Beaudesert Camera Club will also be present to conduct an astro photography workshop.

The Bromelton House Ladies International Polo Test will be held on June 16.

Stuart and Kathy Murray of Bromelton House will host the first Queensland Ladies International Polo Test on their beautiful Scenic Rim property on June 16.

Australia vs New Zealand will be a tough match, with the Australian ladies fighting for a win after losing to New Zealand earlier this year down south. Come and cheer the Aussies on from one of the catered marquees or from your own car boot picnic space.

The Spicers Hidden Vale Roaming Degustation will be held on June 17.

Ash Martin, Executive Chef of Homage Restaurant, will host an interactive property tour inclusive of a roaming degustation lunch. First stop is a visit to the free-range pigs then to the market garden’s smoke house, where the tempting tastings begin. Lunch will be enjoyed under a beautiful fig tree where a selection of the very best produce from the Scenic Rim will be cooked over a coal pit. $95pp plus selected local wines and beers on consumption.

The inaugural RUN THE RIM – Scenic Rim Trail Run Series – is set to be held on June 24, 2018 in Kooralbyn.

Get your joggers on and Run the Rim – June 24

RUN THE RIM Scenic Rim Trail Run Series, based in Kooralbyn, will showcase the beautiful landscapes and terrain of the region. There will be long course and short course options, and a kids’ 2km fun run for children younger than 10-years-old (kids run free and must be accompanied by an adult).

The Wild Canary Producers’ Lunch will be held on June 28 at their Brookfield bistro, set in lush gardens.

Experience a five course degustation lunch and enjoy stories direct from the producers. Executive Chef Glen Barratt will showcase the best seasonal produce from the Scenic Rim. Note: this event is held at Wild Canary bistro in Brookfield.

Scenic Rim Eat Local Week, now in its 8th year, has grown into a much-loved festival of regional food, farming and fresh produce. The signature event, the Winter Harvest Festival, will be staged at Aratula on Saturday, July 7.
