Here’s an adventure that will take you from one end of the Scenic Rim’s iconic Lamington Plateau to the other.
You’ll see two of the Scenic Rim’s most historic and popular eco-lodges, as well as some gorgeous wineries and scenery along the way.
Start at Binna Burra Kitchen, where you can get a great coffee and a delicious meal and stock up on local produce from the on-site Binna Burra Kitchen Providore shop.
Book ahead and stay overnight at Binna Burra Lodge in Lamington National Park, so you can take full advantage of the incredible walks available.
Drive down the mountain towards Canungra along the scenic Beechmont Road. It’s a 29km drive which should take you just over 30 minutes. See the Canungra itinerary for ideas.
Before you head up the mountain to the Green Mountains section of the Lamington National Park, taste the wines at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards, where you can even book to have an alpaca picnic with the lovely creatures from Mountview Alpaca Farm (both open 7 days a week).
Or you can try Sarabah Estate Vineyard for delicious refreshments on weekends (phone ahead to confirm opening hours).
Make your final ascent to O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat. Book ahead for accommodation and give yourself plenty of time to explore walking trails.
Top Tip: Take your time – both Binna Burra and O’Reillys offer a great mix of accommodation and activities.
