On June 11 David and Sue McMaugh are hosting La Bunjura, a festival of local wine and food on the grounds surrounding their vineyard.
The event is open and free to attend. Local producers will be on-site selling food and other Scenic Rim delights. Local artists will be exhibiting their work and of course you’ll be able to try the Bunjurgen Estate wines, verjuice, ports and natural grape juice.
On Saturday June 17 and 18 head to the Boonah Showgrounds for the Clydesdale Spectacular.
This showcase of the best of the breed is Queensland’s premier breed-specific show. As well as seeing these incredible horses in action you’ll also be able to enjoy demonstrations in whip cracking, blacksmithing, wheelwrighting, country music and enjoy the poetry and storytelling.
Stay for a campfire dinner, or some Scottish fare.
Also on June 17 is the Scenic Rim Star Party. Hosted by the Scenic Rim Astronomy Association at Laravale, visitors can enjoy the night sky show.
The Beaudesert Camera Club will host an astrophotography workshop and a radio telescope is under construction. Sun and night sky viewing is planned.
It’s all happening from 3pm.
