If you come for a visit in November, you’re in for a treat. Whether you love the great outdoors, live music, good food, family fun or you just want to get some of your Christmas shopping done, there’s something for you in the Scenic Rim. Here’s your guide to what’s on in November.

Enjoy Christmas shopping with a twist at The Shed Cafe – November 2

Get your Christmas shopping out of the way early with The Shed Cafe’s annual Christmas Shopping Night.

Drive up through the olive trees of Rathlogan Grove to enjoy a night of shopping and socialising at The Shed Cafe, complete with sparkling wine on arrival, canapés, lucky door prizes and specials.

Aquis Beaudesert Race Club.

Put on your best black and white for Derby Day in Beaudesert – November 3

Don your best black and white and come track side for a big day of live racing at the Aquis Beaudesert Race Club.

General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children and pensioners and there’ll be mystery guest judges for Fashions on the Field.

Head to a day on the green at Bean To? cafe Beaudesert.

Have a day on the green, Bean To? style – November 3

Head along for a magical afternoon to raise money for the Cancer Council Queensland. Bean To? cafe owner Sonya van Gent and her staff will provide a beautiful high tea style experience and you can enjoy locally made crafts.

Goes from 2.30pm to 5.30pm at Bean To? Cafe, 7 William Street Beaudesert.

Summer Land Camels.

Do your Christmas shopping on a camel farm – November 3

Experience the best of a boutique country market at the Summer Land Camels Christmas Markets on November 3.

The markets will go from 11.30am to 5pm and there’ll be locally grown and produced food products, art, Christmas gifts, live music, camel rides and more.

Community Clothes Swap.

Get thrifty in Boonah – November 3

Get into the spirit of National Recycling Week in the Scenic Rim at the Community Clothes Swap on November 3. It’ll be on at the Boonah Cultural Centre and you can bring along some clothes, shoes or accessories (men’s, women’s and children’s) to take part in the swap for free, or just bring yourself and pay a gold coin donation to purchase items at the event.

 

Boonah Bookfest

Satisfy your inner bookworm at Bookfest – November 3 – 4

Come take your pic from more than 20,000 books, which will be constantly replenished throughout both days of Bookfest at the Boonah Cultural Centre. It goes from 8.30am to 1.30pm, entry is free and funds raised will support the Boonah Book Bug project and the Boonah Library.

 

Tamborine Annual Paddock Party.

Have a paddock party with the Hillbilly Goats – November 4

Book a table and make a day of it when The Bearded Dragon Hotel hosts its free entry annual Tamborine festival to support Australian live music.

A brilliant day out is planned with Australian band the Hillbilly Goats, street paddock eats and plenty of games for adults and children alike.

The event will kick off with breakfast available from 8am.

Do Melbourne Cup Day differently at Towri Sheep Cheeses – November 6

Head along to Towri Sheep Cheeses on Melbourne Cup Day for an action-packed day of sheep races, food and fun.

There’ll be complementary bubbles and sparkling lavender punch on arrival, a three course sheep cheese-inspired menu, live commentary the sheep races and prizes for best dressed.

O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard.

Frock up for Broadway by the Creek – November 10

Slip into your best cocktail attire and enjoy a night at the theatre under the stars when O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards hosts Broadway By The Creek.

The Savoyards Singers are celebrating 20 years of making music across Brisbane and south-east Queensland, and will return to where it all began back in 1999 – when a small touring singing group performed for the first time in the Canungra Valley Vineyards ballroom.

The group will perform classics including Impossible Dream, This Is The Moment and Luck Be A Lady Tonight, and guests will enjoy a three-course meal beside the creek.

Dine and drink in style at Sunset Savours in Mount Alford – November 10

Experience the finest Mount Alford has to offer at Sunset Savours on November 10 at Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm.

Join the folk from Kooroomba and Scenic Rim Brewery for an evening of craft beer perfectly paired with a six course custom designed menu.

Eat, drink and be merry at Moda in the Vines – November 11

The first Moda in the Vines during Scenic Rim Eat Local Week was such a success that The Overflow Estate 1895 is doing it again.

Come and enjoy a delicious tapas and paella lunch prepared by Javier Codina of Moda Restaurant, set on a 4000 acre historic property overlooking the Wyaralong Dam and a beautiful vineyard.

Flock to O’Reilly’s Bird Week – November 11 to 17

Join Australia’s longest running birding program, now in it’s 41st year, at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat from November 11 to 17.

Take part in daily guided tours and witness more than 200 species of the 230 varieties residing World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, home to Australia’s largest collection of sub-tropical birds.

Come and get some one of a kind pieces at the Vintage Brocante on November 8. Experience a country style marketplace showcasing high quality bespoke and unique items for the home and garden. Carefully curated makers and collectors gather to exhibit twice a year in June and November, and the event has previously been held at the Canungra School of Arts Hall. The November 18, event will be at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard for the first time.

Artisan Fayre Tamborine Mountain.

Get arty at the Artisan Fayre on Tamborine Mountain – November 18

Head along to the Artisan Fayre at the Mt Tamborine  Show Grounds to experience art stalls, workshops, entertainment and food stalls from 9am to 4pm November 18.

 

Festival of Small Halls – Kerry.

Head to Kerry for the Festival of Small Halls – November 21 

On November 21, the Festival of Small Halls will visit the Scenic Rim, with Canada’s two-time JUNO Award winner Old Man Luedecke and Australian folk festival favourite Lucy Wise.

The local community of Kerry looks forward to welcoming you for this special event, being presented by Woodfordia Inc. – the group behind the iconic annual Woodford Folk Festival.

Come along and enjoy the stunning landscape of the Kerry Valley, pathway to The Lost World, endless views of stunning farmland and mountainous country. The country hospitality’s not bad either!

FUNdraise for Farmers at Bigriggen.

Have a fun time at FUNdraise for farmers – November 23

Bigriggen Campground will be filled with fun for the whole family when Aussie Destinations Unknown hosts FUNdraise for Farmers from November 23-25.

All money raised through the weekend will go through the Rotary Club of Sydney to the Barrumbuttock Hayrunners, helping them deliver donated hay where it’s needed most.

Kooralbyn Valley MTB Endurance Series

Get on your bike and test your endurance – November 24

On the Edge Events will present the Scenic Rim MTB 12 hour Dusk to Dawn mountain bike endurance event the night of November 24.

Get some mates together or go solo and ride a looped course of about 11km per lap at the Kooralbyn Valley Mountain Bike Tracks.
