Visit Canungra and Beechmont artists this weekend for the final installment in the Open Studios of the Scenic Rim program.

It’s been a bumper five weeks of art and craft right across the region.

On June 3 and 4 you can meet artists Erica Bates, Dave Groom and artists from Beechmont arts collective Nature’s Imprints.

While you’re in the area call into the Canungra Visitor Information Centre for some local’s knowledge on where to eat, drink and shop locally.

arts in the olivesSpoil mum with a unique day out in the Scenic Rim’s Lost World this Mother’s Day.

The Arts in the Olives festival is part of Scenic Rim Open Studios and is a hugely-popular Mother’s Day event.

It’s a relaxed event, held among the Worendo Olive Grove.

As well as art and craft workshops, there is live music, beautiful hot and cold local food, artisan stalls and fabulous children’s’ activities.

This year’s event is themed, Celebration – a Decade of Creativity – and will feature workshops in blacksmithing, watercolour painting, shibori, flute making and weaving.

The event is held on Sunday May 14 and some workshops do book out.

Entry is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under five are free.

Scenic Rim Open Studios launches this weekend on Tamborine Mountain, marking the start of five weeks of art events throughout the region.

This celebration of culture and creativity features 300 artists in 27 locations across five weekends.

Open Studios of the Scenic Rim is held every weekend during May, and the first weekend in June, allowing visitors to meet the artists and see them work in their studios.

Studios are open from 9am to 5pm and works will be available for sale.

Many artists are available for workshops and artists’ residencies.
