Meet the Locals – Michelle Roper-Dennis
Michelle Roper-Dennis is a familiar face to Canungra locals and visitors. She owns My Country Escape, a gorgeous shop in Canungra’s main CBD, selling homewares, giftware, fresh flowers and clothing. Michelle is one of many locals to embrace Turning Canungra Pink during October.
Money raised will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation and the Queensland Cancer Council. It’s an initiative of the Canungra Chamber of Commerce and features a number of events, including a movie night at the Canungra Pool on October 5, Barefoot Bowls on October 11, a Charity Golf Day on October 18, a Cancer Awareness Day on October 19, community markets on October 26 and a dinner at the Canungra School of Arts on October 31.
Michelle has filled her shop window with gorgeous pink flowers to show her support.
We asked Michelle for her local tips on where to eat, drink and shop in the Scenic Rim.
Favourite place to eat
It has to be Ginja Ninja Sushi Cafe & Bar in Canungra. I love their Karaage Chicken, yummy. And the craft beer is awesome too.
Favourite place for coffee
The Canungra Hub. Danielle makes my coffee and knows just how to hit the spot.
My favourite place in the Scenic Rim is …
My Country Escape of course! Love my job.
What I love most about the Scenic Rim is …
The heart and soul of the region, good old-fashioned values. The people here are just so friendly.
Best Scenic Rim view?
From the lookout at Tamborine Mountain. The views are spectacular.
