19 Apr 2019 to 19 Apr 2019
Imagine the view from the Mt Maroon summit on a clear full-moon night. Picture expansive scenery bathed in silver light, nearby Lake Maroon glinting, the surrounding mountains glowing and the lights of surrounding towns or Brisbane in the far distance.
The Moon Rise on Maroon guided walk is fast becoming one of Mt Barney Lodge’s most popular guided mountain expeditions.
Mt Maroon is a 964m volcanic peak adjacent to well-known Mt Barney. It is part of the McPherson Range of mountains in the Scenic Rim, and offers spectacular views to Brisbane and Moreton Island and even the tip of Mt Warning can be seen from the summit.

The hike finishes about 9.30pm, and camping or accommodation is available at Mt Barney Lodge. Check accommodation availability here.
The hike includes guiding and interpretation, first aid equipment, public liability insurance, plant identification reference books, snacks and a warm meal plus hot tea/coffee at the summit. Camping or accommodation is not included in the price of the hike.
