A precursor to the larger internationally renowned O’Reilly’s Bird Week held each November, Autumn Bird Week is a relaxed experience ideal for beginner bird watchers hoping to see the unique birds of Lamington National Park in a small group.
Guests can expect to see hundreds of bird species throughout the week, whereby assisting several research and conservation programs. Explore a range of habitats from dry rainforests to lagoons and some offsite locations as well.
Spot species such as Thrushes, Lyrebird, Pitta, Riflebird, Catbird, Wompoo Pigeon, Rose Robin with some Eucalypt forest edge species. Add to your count at night during Nocturnal Bird Spotlighting for species such as Boobook Owl, Marbled Frogmouth, Owlet Nightjar and Sooty Owl.
