Stinson Walks – 1st October, 2011
O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, Lamington National Park Road, Via Canungra QLD 4275
Retrace Bernard O’Reilly’s famous journey through mountainous rainforest terrain as he searched for the survivors of the ill-fated Stinson plane crash over 70 years ago. Experience one of Australia’s iconic walks on this rugged yet rewarding journey.

Canungra Classic Hang gliding Championships - 2nd-9th October 2011
Head quarters this year will be at the Canungra Hotel.
Flying will take place from either Beechmont or Tamborine sites from 10am.Depending on weather on day.Around 70 of Australia’s best Male & Female pilots Competing. Led by John Durand from Beechmont currently ranked no 1 in the world. Have 10 New Zealand pilots entered along with a number of overseas pilots from Europe.
Paragliding championships will be held later in the month & run for 1 week also.
Headquarters RSL Canungra.

Scenic Singer Songwriters Music Festival at Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard – 9th October 2011

Kalbar Country Day Hay Festival – 15th October 2011
3omins south of Ipswich, just off the Cunningham Highway, Kalbar Country Day promises you a fun filled day of country hospitality. Come out and see teh remarkabale hay sculptures around the town. Monster hay sculpture competition, country craft and market stalls, Historical photography display, children’s rolling games, Pumpkin rolling competition, Country Music and Country food.

The Canungra Hotel Hang Gliding Classic – 22nd to 29th October 2011
This years championship head quarters will be the Canungra Hotel. Flying will take place from either the Mount Tamborine or Beechmont sites. Flying will commence from 10am daily, weather permitting. Around 85 of the worlds best male and female pilots will be competing in the competition with the opportunity to fly over the Great Dividing Range and across the flat lands. All pilots will be competing for points on the international ladder in hopes of being awarded a chance to compete in the World Championship Titles which will be held in NSW early 2013.
