Autumn Show for Orchid and Foliage plants- 10-11 March 2012
Canungra School of Arts Hall, Pine St Canungra
The Beaudesert District Orchid and Foliage Society’s Autumn Show for Orchid and Foliage Plants is a must-see for orchid and foliage lovers.
Orchids will be in spectacular bloom and there will be many ferns, begonias and bromeliads on display.
Orchid collector and enthusiast, John Roberts, will speak about the basics of growing orchids at 11am and 1pm on Saturday and at 10.30am on Sunday.
Plants grown by society members will be on sale for reasonable prices.
A cake stall will provide refreshments for sale. Admission is $3.
The show runs from 8am to 3pm on Saturday and from 9am to 3pm on Sunday.
Open Doors Exhibition-Until 24 March 2012
An exhibition of artwork by Scenic Rim artists, celebrating the 5th birthday of The Centre at Beaudesert. The exhibition showcases small scale works by the 2012 Studios of the Scenic Rim artists, including paintings, works on paper, studio glass, fibre, textiles, sculpture, printmaking, millinery and photography.
Shaolin Kung Fu- 24 March 2012
Boonah Cultural Centre, Direct from China, Shaolin Kung Fu will have you on the edge of your seat. See this high-octane kung fu mastery up close. Shaolin Kung Fu dates back 1500 years and has been seen in movies like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $48 for adults, $39 for seniors and $25 for students. National Model A Ford Rally- 29 March 2012
Boonah High St. A convoy of 170 vintage cars will fill Boonah’s High St on the afternoon of March 29. The rally is held every two years and this year the cars are based at Ipswich. Their outing on March 29 will take them through Kalbar and onto Boonah, where the main street will be blocked for their procession. Come and talk to the car owners about their vintage machines.
Morning Melodies – The Italian Songbook-March 30 2012
The Centre, Beaudesert. The gorgeous Liza Beamish returns to the Scenic Rim with her singing partner Lachlan Baker in a thrilling programme of Italian favourites. From the pops to opera and operetta, this show includes favourites such as Unchained Melody, Granada, I’ll Walk with God and O Sole Mio.
Tickets are $16, or $14.40 for members. Groups of 10+ $12.50.
Show starts at 11am and there’s a complimentary morning tea after the show. website
Moogerah Passion Play- 31 March 2012 to 7 April 2012
Amphitheatre, Lake Moogerah. This community performance features 100 cast and crew from all denominations. They perform the story of Easter in a natural amphitheatre on the banks of Lake Moogerah. Performances are held on March 31, April 1, 6 and 7.

Entry free gold coin donation appreciated. Raises funds for Mt Tamborine Rural Fire Brigade.
The Craft Extravaganza Mothers Day is a craft show featuring the work of 50 local and South East Queensland craft persons with all the work hand made by the exhibitor and all available for purchase at reasonable prices.
The range of work is comprehensive and includes rag dolls, vintage chenille bears, country woodwork, jewellery, hand crafted jewellery boxes, applique work, stitcheries, tea towels, lavender products, country signs, recycled corrugated iron country figures and much more.
Ample free parking is available, credit and eftpos facilities, disabled access, light lunches, morning and afternoon teas, coffee, tea and water.
