The festival kicks off on August 31 and will run through to September 7.
The festival theme was inspired by the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Boonah Cultural Centre and according to organisers is a ‘joyous recognition’ of the essential part the centre plays in showcasing local talent.
Boonah Arts Festival has grown from a series of street parades into a week-long festival which is now recognised as one of the most-acclaimed cultural events in rural QLD.
It is presented by the Boonah and District Cultural Foundation, led by Meredith Stone and Wilson Neuendorf, with the support of hundreds of volunteers and participants.
The Arts Festival features the Scenic Rim Art Awards, writing awards, a Night of Music, the Great Debate, the Youth Showcase and Calico on the Catwalk.
