The countdown is on to Scenic Rim Eat Local Week and if you’re hungry for a taster check out some of these unique pre-events.
The official Eat Local Week launch is being held on May 9 at Moda Events in Brisbane.
Limited tickets remain for the Feast in the Field lunch at Tommerup’s Dairy Farm on May 21, where guests will feast on a shared menu created by Brenda Fawdon from her EAT LOCAL cookbook.
Tickets are also available for the popular Scenic Rim producer’s lunch at Wild Canary at Brookfield. It’s on June 15 and tickets sell fast.
Bookings are now open for Scenic Rim Gourmet Short Stay, a walking holiday focused on food.
This delicious tour runs from June 25 to 29 and will connect you with the Scenic Rim’s tastes, sights and producers.
It’s being organised and led by the team at InterNATIONAL Park Tours and features accommodation on Tamborine Mountain and in Boonah, visits to wineries, farm gates and paddock to plate food trails.
Scenic Rim Eat Local Week plates up from June 24 and continues right through the first week of the Queensland school holidays.
It culminates in the signature event, the Winter Harvest Festival at Aratula on Saturday July 2.
Eat Local Week features more than 90 individual events, including farm tours, producer lunches, cooking classes, cheese making workshops and gourmet dinners.
