Studios of the Scenic Rim launches in Beaudesert this weekend with a Murri Arts Festival, celebrating the art and heritage of the indigenous Mununjali people of the Scenic Rim.

What you’ll see:
The two-day festival features a community art and poetry project, the Jingi Wahlu photographic exhibition, indigenous culture workshops and an Arts Dinner featuring performances by the Jaran Dancers, William Barton and David Page.
Chef Bryant Wells, of Brisbane’s Tukka Restaurant, will lead demonstrations in cooking with native Australian ingredients.
The event coincides with the annual Drumley Walk, which honours Aboriginal elders of yesteryear for their resilience and courage to remain living on their traditional lands.
Open Studios of the Scenic Rim continues every weekend until June 4 and gives visitors the chance to step inside the studios of the region’s leading artists.
